Match Report
Y Glannau 7 Rhyl All Stars 0
We started well today and pressed the All Stars defence into making a few early mistakes, two early penalty appeals were waved away.
The first chance of the game came from Alec’s corner and it was headed over by Tom Jones.
Tom Jones made no mistake with his next header though, another corner was played deep, Joey with the header back across the goal and Tom was their to nod home. ( He lost his goal against Abergele after we deemed him not to get a touch on Josh Mac’s wicked delivery but no one was taking this one off him) 1-0.
A quick throw from Macca played in Aaron who was pushed in the area, the ref gave a penalty and Harrison stepped up and smashed it in 2-0, before the penalty was taken the All Stars centre back seen red after arguing about the decision and was sent off for dissent.
Our build up play was good but the last pass was rushed or just not on the money today.
Macca and Zak linked up well down the right, Macca cut in and found Aaron who dragged his shot wide.
Brad then had to make a great save to deny the All Stars winger from point blank range, superb goalkeeping.
Alec then picked up the ball on the left and beat two players, he played the ball to Harrison who cut in and smashed it home 3-0.
Half time
Y Glannau 3 Rhyl All Stars 0
At half time we weren’t particularly happy with the performance, when All Stars went down to ten men we slowed the press down, we should of kept going, we knew we had to improve second half as it all felt a little flat.
All credit to All Stars for the first 15 minutes of the second half they were the better team. They shown great fight and spirit, they were first to every ball and had 2/3 good efforts from distance. They also had a few corners but Brad dealt with anything thrown at him today.
We made it 4-0 against the run of play, Macca played in Aaron who then found Harrison to finish well.
Our 5th goal of the game came after good work from Joey who played a lovely ball through to Harrison who took on the defender and again finished really well 5-0.
Brad’s distribution today was fantastic and his long ball was flicked on by Tomos, the ball fell to Harrison who volleyed it home into the bottom corner from distance 6-0. ( Fantastic goal to round off a superb display of finishing from a great striker)
Harrison almost had his 6th but his sweet strike rattled the bar and the All Stars defence cleared their lines.
We made it 7-0 after a long free kick into the box by Kyle was finished well by substitute Rhys Thomas Clark.
Late on the two All Stars substitutes linked up well and Warren Hampson was unlucky when his strike struck the bar to make sure Brad and the boys got their clean sheet.
